The Best Place to Work

British culture has always inspired me.

I remember playing with my leaded Royal Guards, watching Mary Poppins every time I could, drawing the UK flag all over my notebooks and, I do have to mention this, I grew up as a Beatles fan.

I think I first heard of the BBC while sneaking into my dad’s CD's, I found a rare version of live songs of the Fab Four, then for me, BBC became synonymous of quality content (in the mind of a 7 year old).

Even though it was easier to "pronounce" the American English, I've always enjoyed the British accent and how proper everything is.

I found my fascination for detective books reading Agatha Christie (even though Hercule Poirot is from Belgium) and following the Sherlock Holmes adventures. Britain has got quite bright minds.

Many years later, in Communication school, I learned the importance of the BBC and how they pionereed on the TV industry. Somehow, secretly, I always wanted to work for that company that has been broadcasting just quality content since 1927.

So now, I am here, at the BBC Worlwide, and when you think you can't be prouder of working here, with successful brands as Sherlock, Doctor Who or Top Gear, a little kid, which happens to be my son, gets excited anytime Mister Maker or Big and Small shows on the screen.

You have no idea how it feels to be asked

"Is that where you work, daddy?"

and proudly answer...

"-Yes, it is".
